This last weekend we took a trip to Garmisch, a German town down in southern Germany. We decided to camp, a. because it helps the looks of our bank account a little and b. because we were staying in the mountains. This was the view from our campground.
On the way to Garmisch, we stopped at the Neuschwanstein Castle, the most visited castle in Germany. It also happens to be Walt Disney’s inspiration for the Magic Kingdom. You learn something new everyday, huh?! The way we took (less traffic) was a mile up-hill hike to the base of the castle. Here are some of the iPhone shots we got.
We deserved donuts on the way back down. Let me tell you, these were, by far, the best donuts I have ever had! Oh, and calories don’t count on birthdays, so it was okay! 😉
After the castle we headed over to the camp site to set everything up. It was pouring rain when we got there, so that was a nice little addition to our weekend! But, we managed to get it all set up in one piece, it stopped raining, and we enjoyed the rest of our time there. Lena did too!
Isn’t it beautiful?!
