Over Labor Day weekend, we took a puddle jumper of a flight over to London to spend a few days sightseeing and being tourists! We both agreed this was our favorite trip so far! I am not sure if it was because they spoke English and we could finally understand people and signs or if it was because of the amount of attractions we got to see. Whatever it was, it was a great trip!
Our first stop was Big Ben. We learned on our tour that you can’t actually see Big Ben from the picture below. We learned that Big Ben refers to the bell INSIDE the clock tower. The tower’s name is actually the Queen’s Tower, after Queen Elizabeth. Interesting, huh?!
We stopped by Buckingham Palace to grab a few pictures, but first, I regretfully had to call Will and Kate and let them know we could not make it to dinner with them that evening. 😉
The picture below is a shot from the Sunday we were there. Its crazy how many people come from all over the world just to see one palace. The queen wasn’t even in residence that day!
We were fortunate enough to be able to witness a “Changing of the Guards” at St. James Palace that afternoon. This was one of my favorite things from the trip!
On Saturday, we left the city and took a tour of a local brewery called London Fields Brewery. It was nice to escape the millions of people and slow down for a little bit. We got to sample many different beers and meet some nice people along the way.
After the brewery tour, we grabbed a bite to eat at the local market. It was some of the best food we have ever eaten. Not pictured: Nutella filled crepes.
Sunday we took a walking tour around London and took a ride on the London Eye. Everyone should experience the London Eye. It was amazing!
Here is the view of Big Ben from the top of the London Eye.
We ended our trip by taking a few night photos of our favorite things!
