Why it took us two years to get to this cute little town, I’ll never know. Colmar, France, also known as, Little Venice, in the Alsace region of northeastern France, is on the border of Germany. A short two-hour drive from where we live, you would think we would’ve gotten here sooner. Better later than never, right?
I can’t imagine what this place would look like in spring or summer. I picture flowers blooming from all those window boxes, people sitting outside cafés sipping their coffees, and tour companies taking people through the town, by boat, on the canals. The town was magical in late December when we were there. Colmar, in the heart of the Alsace Wine Region, so we may just have to make a trip back when the weather gets a little warmer. 😉
The Christmas Market in Colmar doesn’t start until after Christmas, so we were fortunate enough to take part in that while we were there. It was busy with people still in holiday mode, eating sausages, trying different cheeses and drinking glühwein.
With only an overnight here, we didn’t get many pictures. What we did capture though, is a beautiful, quaint little French town! See you soon, Colmar!
